New Club Training Aircraft

New Club Training Aircraft

The Scottish Aero Club has just taken ownership of another aircraft - G-FLYJ, an Evector Eurostar SL.

This is the latest, most luxurious model of the successful EV97 line of fixed wing microlights and comes with a glass  panel cockpit and a ballistic recovery parachute..

From 1st may 2017 all fixed wing training conducted by Alba Airsports on behalf of the SAC will be carried out on this machine.

Our ever faithful Eurostar Classic G-CFNW will remain available for self hire to qualified pilots who will now have the opportunity to self hire for a more prolonged time without the need to rush back, as it will not be required by me for training.

Club Talk - Radar to ADSB

radarEvening Lecture: From Radar to Revolutionary, The journey from ‘basic’ radar to today’s ‘hi-tech’ aircraft awareness systems (Including low Power ADSB, FLARM and PilotAware)

Saturday 22 April at 7.00 for 7.30, SAC Club Rooms

Join us at the end of the flying day for a session with Peter Robertson  (Microlight Pilot and Member of the PilotAware Development Team) as he presents a talk designed to increase understanding by Pilots of how present-day Aviation Radar Systems and Transponders work. Peter will also cover how this ‘basic’ technology can be improved to provide safer and more effective traffic awareness to pilots and to indicate (and discuss) potential future developments.
As a member of the Pilot Aware development team, Peter will also have a very limited number of units available for demonstration and sale.
